| Object of the Game The Object of the game is to have more HSP, or Holo Sector Points, than your opponent when either: a) Only one player has any uncaptured Bakugan, or b) All Sector Cards have been captured. The game play involves rolling the magnetic marbles in an area set up with the magnetic cards. If the marbles hit correctly, they open to depict a little monster. In the Arena, the player may declare "Stay" if they have no more Bakugan to shoot. The standing Bakugan remains on the card and the player may add another card to the Arena. Play continues until all of the Arena cards have been captured or only 1 player has Bakugan to shoot. To conclude the game, each player counts the HSP value of his captured cards, then adds an additional 100 hsp for each Bakugan in his inventory (standing, unplayed, and captured Bakugan all count the same—a player with 2 Bakugan left to roll, 1 standing in the Arena, and 3 captured would gain 600 points). The winner is the player with the most HSP. If both players have a tie in HSP the holo selector side is placed face up and sudden fury is declared. In sudden fury both players shoot their Bakugan to stand on the card. If one player makes their Bakugan stand and the other player does not, the player that made the Bakugan stand wins. If both stand or neither stand, players continue to do sudden fury with the same card until one player wins. Gateway Cards There are 4 types of Gate Cards (short for Metal Gate Cards). * Normal: Has six G-Power Boosts for each color, and an HSP score that determines the winner at the end of the game * Command: Has special instructions that must be followed, and all the same information as Normal cards. * Character: The card has a picture of a certain type of Bakugan (e.g. Reaper). If a Bakugan of the same Class is on the card's description, the Bakugan's G- Power is doubled. This also has all the same information as Normal cards. * Special Ability: Has unique commands that must be followed much like Command cards, but has no G-Power Boosts. Playing * During their turn, a player must shoot one Bakugan if they have any not on the battlefield. * A Gate Card may be played at any time during a player's turn. * When a Bakugan lands on a Gate Card, the launch was successful. If the Bakugan misses, however, the Bakugan is returned to the player, and their turn ends. * If a player has all their Bakugan on the battlefield, they must choose one of them and call 'STAY'. Unless an opponent's Bakugan is on the card, the player captures the card automatically, and takes their Bakugan. Battling * When two Bakugan of different players are on the same card, a battle starts. * The card they are on is flipped over to the Holo Sector side and the G-Power Bonuses on the card (beginning initially with the bonus matching the sign of one of the 6 attributes of the Bakugan in play) are applied. * The player with the Bakugan that has the highest G-Power after all effects are applied wins the brawl. If their G-Power levels are equal, a Tie Brawl is started. * The winning player then takes the loser's Bakugan, which can not be played in that game again (but is given back after the game is over). The winning player also takes the Gate Card they battled on. If 2 Bakugan are on the Gate Card and are owned by the same player, that player automatically captures the card. * When a Bakugan knocks an opponent's Bakugan off the card but stays on the card itself, it wins the battle automatically. Tie Brawl When a tie occurs in a Brawl, both players take back their Bakugan. They then take a shot to try to land on the card. If both players miss or land on the card, they both try again. If one player's Bakugan lands on the card, they win the battle. Winning Once all the cards have been won or all but one player has no Bakugan left, the game ends. Then each player adds up all the HSP points from the cards they won. Players gain a 100 HSP point boost for every Bakugan they defeated or wasn't captured. The player with the higher HSP point total wins the game Game Terms * Bakugan: A small marble that opens up after it lands on a Gate Card. When opened, it depicts a small monster. * Shot Spot: The location where a player shoots their Bakugan. * Sector: The back side of a Gate Card. * Holo Sector: The Front side of a Gate Card Planets and Classes Each Bakugan is assigned a planet and class based on their color and shape when opened, respectively. * Pyrus: Bakugan from the planet of Pyrus (also known as Nova 12) are red, with gold accents on their exterior. * Aquos: Aquos Bakugan are blue, with light blue accents. * Subterra: These Bakugan are brown with orange accents. * Haos: Also known as Luminoz, these Bakugan are white with yellow accents. * Darkus: Bakugan from the planet that is also called Darkon are black with purple accents. * Ventus: Not to be confused with Aquos, these Bakugan are aqua with green accents.
